The University of Peradeniya Alumni in Queensland have been gathering informally since 2015, fostering strong connections and camaraderie. Over the years, we have organized annual get-togethers and social events to maintain these bonds.
In 2024, our community took a significant step forward by formalizing the organization through incorporation, leading to the establishment of ALUMNI ASSOCIATION OF UNIVERSITY OF PERADENIYA QUEENSLAND CHAPTER INCORPORATED ( AAUOPQC). The primary objective of this incorporation was to create a legally recognized and structured organization that operates within Australia’s legal framework while upholding principles of accountability, transparency, and inclusivity.
The association is governed by a constitution, developed and adopted by the majority of members. It provides a democratic platform for members to elect their representatives and actively participate in decision-making. Today, the association is well-positioned to allocate its resources, with members’ consent, to support the University of Peradeniya and contribute to its ongoing success.
